Cut the thawed puff pastry into circles and press into a mini tart tin.
Mix the egg and water to make an egg wash. then brush the pastry and bake at 400F for about 10 minutes.
Press the centers of the pastry in with a spoon and then add about a tablespoon of cheese and a teaspoon of the cherry preserve. sprinkle with pecans and bake until cheese is melted and pastry is golden brown.
