You don’t need a campfire to make these air fryer s’mores! All you need for this easy recipe is your trusty air fryer, three ingredients, and about 5 minutes. It’s as simple as air frying the marshmallow on one graham cracker half until puffed, warming the chocolate on the other cracker, and combining them to make a decadent sweet treat!
I went for the classic s’mores combo in this recipe, but you can change things up by using different cookies, different chocolate, and even homemade or vegan marshmallows! I have all sorts of suggestions below. For more air fryer desserts, try my air fryer cheesecake, air fryer hand pies, and air fryer brownies.
Ingredients
Graham crackers — you need two whole graham crackers (2 sheets). You can use any flavor you like.
Marshmallows — use large marshmallows for the best results.
Chocolate — use your favorite plain chocolate bars; Hershey’s chocolate bars are a classic choice to make air fryer s’mores!
What’s The Best Chocolate To Use?
A chocolate bar is the best option as it is easy to break into pieces and place on the graham cracker. You can try using chocolate chips, but they may roll or blow off of the graham crackers in the air fryer. Use your favorite chocolate bar brand or flavor!
How To Make Air Fryer S’mores
1. Break the graham cracker sheets in half so that you have 4 squares (which will yield 2 air fryer s’mores). Place 2 graham cracker squares in the air fryer basket.
2. Cut or tear off ¼-inch off the bottom of 2 marshmallows to expose the sticky interior.
3. Place the sticky side of the marshmallows on top of the graham cracker halves. Air fry at 350°F for 2 to 3 minutes until the top of the marshmallow is lightly golden brown and puffed. Place the other two graham cracker halves in the air fryer. Top each with ½ of the chocolate bars (stack the chocolate if needed). Air fry at 350°F for 1 more minute for the chocolate to become warm.
4. With a small spatula, carefully remove the graham crackers from the air fryer. Press the melted chocolate side of one graham cracker over top of the gooey marshmallow. Let rest for 1 to 2 minutes before eating, as the marshmallow will be very hot!
Cut The Marshmallows
Cutting off a small bit of the marshmallow exposes the sticky inside so it can adhere to the graham cracker. Otherwise, the hot air circulating around the air fryer can blow them off the crackers, and they will melt into the air fryer basket.
Variations
- Use different flavors of chocolate or candy bars: I use a bar of milk chocolate for these s’mores, but you can use dark chocolate or white chocolate. You can also use chocolate bars with fillings like peanut butter or caramel!
- Use different cookies: Swap the graham crackers for other crisp cookies like Biscoff, gingersnaps, chocolate graham crackers, or Oreos that you split apart.
- Use homemade marshmallows: Try my fluffy, pillowy homemade marshmallows to take these air-fried s’mores to the next level!

Can I Store Leftovers?
While you can store leftover air fryer smores for up to 24 hours, they are really best enjoyed fresh when the marshmallow is soft and gooey, and the chocolate is melted. They will not taste as good if you keep them for too long. Since they are so quick and easy, I recommend only making as many s’mores as you know you’ll eat immediately.
Pro Tips For Making This Recipe
- If you prefer chocolate that is less melty, you can just air fry the marshmallow half, press the piece of chocolate on top of the soft marshmallow, then top it with another graham cracker, and enjoy.
- Cooking time will depend on your air fryer, so check the marshmallows after 2 minutes. Continue air frying if needed.
- If you are making subsequent batches, and your air fryer is now pre-heated, decrease the cooking time on the marshmallow to 1 to 2 minutes so it doesn’t burn.
- Wait a minute or two before eating the s’mores. The marshmallows will be very hot, so give them a bit of time to cool down.
